Educated in the IEFD experimental elementary schools that emerged in Venezuela with the rise of democracy and the concurrent oil boom, Carlos was trained early on to see handcrafting as an equal part of the curriculum, along with humanities, mathematics and science. After a business education and career, Carlos found home in the skills he learned in his youth, materializing the intimate relation that exist between problem finding and solving, technique and expression, work and play.
