"One of the defining elements of furniture design is that it is place-making—just as a table draws people around it or a chair invite sitting, Carlos is craving out, in various woods and finishing, a combination of functionality and geometry which draws together his own South and North America. Following the modern tradition of graphic and furniture design in Venezuela, Carlos combine the utilitarian qualities of use and practicality with playful geometric compositions".
Nikki Moore, Houston 2014.
Refusing the traditional static conception of furniture, versatility became characteristics of my work. I believe in an object’s capacity to change, which fosters dynamism and adaptability to different layouts and styles. The ability to mutate brings an object the possibility of suiting its context as well as the exponential capacity to transform a given space.
